Change timing while keeping the drawing
This tool changes the delay stored before each image frame. Compressed image data, colour tables, transparency, disposal settings and existing loop instructions are retained. It does not crop, resize, interpolate or redraw your GIF. A frame missing a timing block receives one, which adds eight bytes and may update the header to GIF89a.
Choose a delay using the frame count
For a 24-frame GIF, 50 ms per frame stores a 1.2-second cycle; 100 ms stores 2.4 seconds; 200 ms stores 4.8 seconds. These are stored timings, not measured playback speeds. Browsers and messaging apps may apply minimum delays or convert the file. Check the downloaded result in the app where it will be used.
When not to use a uniform delay
A demonstration with a long pause on its final instruction needs unequal frame delays. This tool replaces those pauses with one delay for all frames. Keep your original if the rhythm matters. A one-frame file cannot be animated by changing timing. Plain-text rendering blocks are not supported.
Local processing and limits
Your chosen file is read in this tab; no conversion service receives it. Trying the sample downloads one of our own GIFs. The tool does not preview or decompress arbitrary uploaded images, certify file safety or remove embedded metadata. Clear removes local data and download links from the tab; files already downloaded remain on your device.
