Optional GIPHY trends

The separate GIPHY panel connects directly to GIPHY when you visit the gallery. GIFs animate unless reduced motion is enabled; Pause all stops them. GIPHY and its media hosts then receive your IP address and request information. Results are held in tab memory, without our own server copy, proxy or persistent catalogue. Clear results removes the displayed selection but cannot undo requests already sent. See GIPHY's privacy policy. The GIF maker, inspector and speed editor continue to process your text and files locally.

Your messages and exported files

The GIF maker renders and encodes in your browser. This version does not upload your message, preview or exported file to our server. Drafts stay in tab memory and are not saved when you leave or reload. Downloads are saved by your browser to a location you choose or have configured. The maker accepts text and preset choices; it does not import images or videos. The separate GIF inspector lets you select a local GIF (up to 20 MiB). Its bytes are read in tab memory to extract metadata, without uploading or playing the file. Clear selected file or reload to remove the result. A metadata report is downloaded only when you choose; it excludes the filename and contains dimensions, file size, frame delays and related GIF fields. There is no server copy or saved file history.

Changing the speed of a local GIF

The speed editor also reads files locally, with the same 20 MiB input limit. It changes frame-delay fields and builds a downloadable copy in tab memory without sending the file to a conversion service. It does not remove comments or other embedded metadata from your GIF. Its optional comparison report excludes your filename. Clear or reload removes the selected data and download links from this tab; downloads you have saved remain on your device. Trying a sample requests one of our public GIF files from the website host.

Browser preferences

Theme and article-helpfulness choices use local storage. Helpfulness controls remember a choice on your device; they do not send a vote to a server. Clearing this site's browser data removes those preferences. Storage may be unavailable in private browsing or restricted environments.

Search and hosting

Search uses an index served with the website. Queries are processed in your browser, which still requests index files from the host. The website is configured for Cloudflare Pages. When the hosted site is visited, Cloudflare handles requests to deliver and protect it; this can include IP address, browser and requested URL information. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Local processing of your greeting does not mean the hosting provider receives no request data.

Advertising and analytics

This version enables no advertising scripts, analytics trackers, comments, purchases, registration or embedded videos. An AdSense verification meta tag, if configured, is an HTML value rather than an advertising loader. Introducing advertising requires reviewing this notice and any applicable consent controls before ads are served.

Contact and external services

If you email the publisher, the email providers process the message and its contents are used to address your enquiry. If you share a downloaded GIF through another app, that app handles the file under its own practices. Public contact details belong on the contact page. External links lead to independently operated services.

This notice will be revised when the site's actual processing changes. The displayed date records a substantive update rather than each routine build.
